The recent announcement that Madonna will be performing during the Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show in February certainly doesn’t sit well with Gene Simmons. The Kiss singer has bashed Madge’s involvement, insisting that the show would be better of with a “real band.”

Simmons was caught leaving a Hollywood hot spot Monday night (Dec. 6) by celebrity gossip site TMZ, who asked what he thought of the big announcement that the “Material Girl” will headline the show. “I love all karaoke singers,” he replied, thick with sarcasm. “I love all the girl singers who get up and sing with tapes … shame on you!”

He then added: “By the way, Madonna’s terrific … I hate the tapes.” So, perhaps Simmons already knows that Madonna will be lip syncing her way through hits?

Anyways, Simmons may not be a big supporter of this year’s entertainment, but we bet he’ll still be watching. Who doesn’t watch the Super Bowl? The big game will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Feb. 5 and will air on NBC. Perhaps next year will finally be there year that Kiss get to invade the Super Bowl stage!
