The Gap's new ad campaign is all about going back to your roots, so it's only fitting that for a pair of new ads, they sent two young musicians back to their own.

Dubbed 'Back to Blue,' the Gap's fall promo series has already spawned a number of ads, but two will be of particular interest to UCR readers -- specifically, the spots featuring Dhani Harrison, son of former Beatles guitarist George Harrison, and Alexa Ray Joel, the daughter of Billy Joel.

Both Harrison and Joel are recording artists in their own right -- Harrison's band thenewno2 has been active since 2006, and he's also a member of Fistful of Mercy with Ben Harper and Joseph Arthur, while Joel has released a solo EP and a series of singles. Both have had to struggle to make an impression outside their family legacies, but that doesn't mean they don't have an appreciation for their fathers' music; here, Harrison covers George's 'For You Blue,' while Joel performs her own rendition of Billy's 'Just the Way You Are.'

The commercials only include snippets of either performance, but if you're so moved, you can purchase the full versions via iTunes. According to ABC News Radio, all proceeds from Harrison's track are being donated to George Harrison’s Material World Foundation in support of their current goal of raising funds for the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation's efforts to cure spinal cord injury.
