The Gopher men's basketball team lost 75-70 in the quarterfinals of the Puerto Rico Tip-off Classic Thursday.  Minnesota trailed by 5 at halftime and led briefly in the 2nd half.  The Gophers were led in scoring by sophomore guard Nate Mason with 20 points and Carlos Morris added 16 points.

Minnesota shot 38 percent from the field while Temple shot 38 percent.  The Gophers committed 11 turnovers while Temple committed 8.  Temple was led by Jaylen Bond with 19 points.

The Gophers are 2-1 this season and will play in the consolation semifinals against Butler or Missouri State at 9:30am Friday, pregame on AM 1390-the Fan at 9:00.
