Sunday's Granite City Days events are more than a wrap to the whole weekend of fun, they're also the opening of The Can-Am Police-Fire Games - which promotes physical fitness and camaraderie among and between law enforcement, fire, emergency and protective services personnel and agencies.

The day begins in two places; the airport and at Lake George.

If you're an early riser, you can head out for the Graniteman Triathlon. The extreme athletes that are competing in this test of endurance and strength will gather at Lake George around 7:45 am. At approximately 8am, they'll dive in to the cool spring-fed lake for a 1/3 mile diamond course, hop on bikes for a nearly 15 mile circuit that will cruise them through-out the South side of St. Cloud, then they'll hoof it for three miles down to the University and back.

For excitement that doesn't involve sweat and movement, roll out to the St. Cloud Regional Airport for an open house from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. You can walk around on the airport ramp and get an up-close peek at a variety of aircraft and airport equipment.

During that time, the St. Cloud Civil Air Patrol Squadron will serve a pancake and sausage breakfast  in Hangar 2. The cost is $6.50 for adults and $4.00 for children. The pancakes are provided by Chris Cakes. Your kids will giggle with delight at the very entertaining pancake flippers and throwers. The St. Cloud Antique Auto Club (The Pantowners), will have classic, collector cars on the tarmac as well.

Be sure you make it back to Lake George by 10am for The 6th Annual Fishing Derby, and around Noon the Family Fun Day blossoms with a fair like atmosphere including food, a water show, petting zoo and carnival games.
