Imagine it: Axl, Slash and the rest of the original GnR crew hitting the stage and ripping into "Welcome to The Jungle".

Ronnie Wood, Rod Stewart and Kenney Jones coming on an paying tribute to the lost members of The Small Faces.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers donning some of their old school, early 90's MTV get-ups and doing "Give it Away" (or anything off Blood Sugar Sex Majik).

Then at the end of the evening, everyone comes back onstage and jams to theBeastie Boys "Fight For Your Right", followed by a Joan Jett lead "I love Rock and Roll"!

I can dream (particularly about the Joan Jett part: she got shafted this year..grrrrrr).

Today (December 7th) The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced its 2012 induction class.

The list goes as follows:

Beastie Boys
Donovan
Laura Nyro
Guns N' Roses
Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Small Faces/The Faces

The group that will undoubtedly receive the bulk of the spotlight leading up to the April 14th induction ceremony in Cleveland will be Guns as 1) each member to ever be in the line up is still alive and 2) the drama surrounding the original line up that hasn't seen in perform in twenty or so years.

Add to that is my catching Axl and the current line up at Target Center last month and witnessing that Mr. Rose can still, in fact, deliver the goods live and this HOF induction has the potential to be the most historically electrifying one ever.

But I'm not holding my breath and you probably shouldn't, either.

It would take a miracle in having Slash and Axl come together as one and reach out to all the members, all the way back to Tracii Guns.

Along with my Joan baby, others not making the cut this year include Heart, Donna Summer and Chaka Kahn and War.

A broadcast of the ceremony will air on HBO in early May.
