Tonight’s feature Guns N’ Roses, “Welcome to the Jungle” about Los Angeles.
All about the dark side of Los Angeles and what many people encounter when they go there to seek out fame. Guns N’ Roses knew this side of the city well: in 1985, they lived in a place on Sunset Boulevard in the city they called “Hell House.” Many times the house would be filled with drugs, alcohol and groupies.
Jake Query who happens to be a friend of Axle Rose had his own definition saying: “when Axl Rose hitchhiked to Los Angeles, California, on the last leg, a truck driver drove him to Los Angeles, and when Rose got out of the truck, the truck driver said ‘Welcome to the Jungle.”
The song was used in the Clint Eastwood film The Dead Pool ( the band made a cameo in the film). It also appears in Lean On Me, Selena , The Program and The Playstation 2 Game,”Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.”
