With the forecast calling for the hottest weather of the summer so far, the National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for St. Cloud and the surrounding area for tomorrow (Monday) -- when the heat index is expected to reach 105˚.

The combination of temperatures in the lower 90s and dew points in the mid to upper 70s will make Central Minnesota feel more like Central Florida. According to the National Weather Service, heat related illnesses will be a concern Monday, especially for the young and elderly. An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for the Twin Cities.

There is a threat of severe weather Monday evening, followed by the possibility of more heavy rain on Tuesday. Temperatures return to normal Tuesday through the rest of the week.
