The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Central Minnesota, in effect until 9pm tonight. High temperatures expected in the mid-90s, combined with high dewpoints, will create heat index readings from 100 to 103 degrees.

The high heat index readings will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay inside air-conditioned buildings, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Heat stroke is an emergency, call 9-1-1.
