According to Rolling Stone magazine, Richard Thompson was once described as, "a perennial dark-horse contender for the title of greatest living rock guitarist."

The great guitar player Richard Thompson founded the band, 'Fairport Convention' ( a lot of nostalgia here), he played lead guitar for them from 1967 - 1971.

Since 1972 Richard has produced and released 16 solo albums with his latest being, 'Electric'. It is available now on CD, MP3 and LP by New West Records.

1974 to 1982 he released six albums with former wife Linda as lead vocalist and also five with Fairport Convention. "I don't play white blues or white soul music. I'm not Eric Clapton. I'm not Sting", Richard Thompson.

Another great band that cleared the way for classic rock, in the video is 'Fairport Convention' from 1967 with Richard as lead guitarist.
