The Rocori Spartans are the defending Class 4A State champs after defeating Bemidji 17-10 in the Prep Bowl in 2011.  Rocori returns some key players but lost alot of talent from their state championship team.  Quarterback Nate Meyer is playing college football at South Dakota State and Mac Mueller is set to replace him at quarterback.

The Spartans are coached by 4th year head coach Mike Rowe. Hear his conversation with Jay Caldwell and Lee Voss on AM 1390-the Fan.

Rocori must replace a veteran offensive line and plan to use a running back by committee approach to replace Sam Moriarty.  Rowe says he would like to see different players used on special teams and limit the amount of two-way players to keep everyone fresh.

Rocori opens the 2012 season at Brainerd on August 31 followed by a home game against Alexandria on September 7, the Spartans play at Apollo on September 14 and will then host back to back games against Willmar and Sauk Rapids-Rice before playing at Big Lake on October 5.  Rocori will host Monticello on October 12 and will play at Tech on October 17.  Hear Rocori football in 2012 on AM 1390-the Fan with Seth Toupal calling the play-by-play.
