ELK RIVER -- The Minnesota State Patrol has released the names of those involved in the Big Lake crash that left one person dead and another injured.

The incident happened just before 4:00 p.m. on Highway 10 between Elk River and Big Lake.

The state patrol says a SUV driven by 72-year-old Theodore Beecroft from Fridley, was travelling Westbound Highway 10 in Big Lake, when it swerved into the median then fishtailed back onto the roadway, swerving back into the median causing it to roll into the barrier.

The crash closed all lanes of Highway 10 for several hours backing up traffic for several hours.

Beecroft died during the crash. His passenger, 67-year-old Donna Beecroft from Fridley was taken Mercy Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
