Thanksgiving is in the air, and that means it’s time to eat, drink, and be merry. While it’s given that most of us will be stuffing our faces with turkey, there’s another American pastime that some of us will be celebrating as well. I’m talking about the art of alcohol consumption.

Personally, I love a good drink, and I love one even more on holidays and at family gatherings. I know I’m not alone here. Quite a few people enjoy the pleasures of alcohol this time of year. So, just how much alcohol do Americans consume on Thanksgiving?

Some interesting statistics reveal that 21% of people drink white wine, 20% drink red wine, 21% drink beer, 13% drink liquor or cocktails, and a whopping 58% stick to water. That’s a shocker! I was expecting our alcohol consumption to be much greater than that. I guess we’re a little more health conscious than I had initially assumed.
