I can’t say for sure whether I would actually use this service but it could pretty helpful if you wanted to show up an ex.

The service is called ‘Invisible Boyfriend‘ or ‘Invisible Girlfriend.’  For $24.99 it will create the illusion of the best, albeit fake, relationship.  According to a Betabeat article on the service for the monthly fee you get 100 texts (this includes responses when you text them), 10 voicemails, a handwritten note and photos of the fake significant other that you can use as you see fit.  Sounds like a pretty good deal, right?

As far as the calls and texts go, the founders claim they don’t come from a robot. They’ve apparently figured out a winning combination of auto and human responses to make everything seem totally legit.

I don’t know that I would ever actually use this but I can think of a few scenarios where it might come in handy — if your family is nagging at you to find ‘the one’ or maybe you’re looking to show your ex how much better off you are.  I’m not sure what you’ll do when they’re invited to family gatherings, possibly stage the most dramatic, albeit fake, breakup.  It might be a good idea to brush up on your acting skills.

What do you think?  Would you ever use this service?
