If you haven’t heard by now, Rod Stewart is going to be playing the Xcel Energy Center with Cyndi Lauper on August 15th. I’m not the biggest fan, but I’ll give it to the guy, he’s had some solid tunes over the years, and even though he’s in his 70s now, he still sounds awesome.

“Forever Young” is a timeless song in my opinion. I’ll crank it up anytime I hear it on the radio. If for whatever reason you aren’t able to attend Rod’s performance this August, you can always check out the “Reason To Believe” tribute to Rod Stewart at Pioneer Place (St. Cloud) on May 11th.

Personally, I often enjoy going to local tribute shows more than going to see the actual artist. Some of the best concerts I’ve ever been to have been performed by local tribute bands. Stadium shows are packed with people and I hate crowds, and there’s something numinous to me about an intimate performance in a smaller venue.

Plus I enjoy supporting my fellow local musicians. Oh, and did mention Mick Sterling will be there? – Because he will be. You can get your ticket online now for $28 or for $31 at the door.
