When it comes to singer/songwriters, there are a few all time greats that you have to mention. Among them - Eric Clapton, Bill Withers, Tom Petty, and Bob Dylan. Now, these guys aren’t exactly technical power houses, but singer/songwriters tend to show us that it’s not always technical prowess that is important when it comes to music, and that what matters the most is that the song is good.

To be honest, I’d rather hear an awesome song performed with a mediocre singer than a mediocre song performed by an awesome singer. One artist that demonstrates this quite well is Jackson Browne. I think it goes without say that Mr. Browne is one of the most important songwriters of all time. The guy has sold over 18 million records in the United States alone.

If that doesn’t attest to his skills then I don’t know what does. He’s one of those guys that I’ve always wanted to see live but have never had the opportunity to – until now. I’m pretty thrilled to announce that he’ll be performing at the State Theatre in Minneapolis on June 19th. His performance starts at 7:30 pm and you can get a ticket online now for as cheap as $65.
