ST. CLOUD - Jeremiah Korfe splits work with three bands; one in Minnesota, one on the west coast, and one in Nashville. It was with the Minnesota band, Contention from the Sauk Centre area, that he won the Main Stage Buffalo Chip out at Sturgis. It is this band that will performing with Korfe tonight at Summertime by George.

It's fun, they're a fun group of fellas from the Sauk Centre area, and they play in a cover band called Contention around the area, so it's nice that I get to use a band that's been together for a while. They love playing with me, and I enjoy hanging out with them, so it's fun to be able to see the guys when I'm back up, and have a little fun.

Winning the Buffalo Chip lead to Korfe opening for Florida Georgia Line, and ZZ Top. He's opened for many more top artists including Dierks Bentley, Kacey Musgraves, Dustin Lynch, Gretchen Wilson, Randy Houser, and Low Cash Cowboys.

Korfe has been working on his own music as well. Work is Korfe's latest single which came out last February. He is also working on a new album, From Joyce, which is set to be released sometime this year. Korfe says you will be hearing these songs, and more at tonight's concert.

I'll pull out some songs that I haven't done in quite a few years, some of the first ones that I did, and then all my new singles, and a bunch that's going to be on my new album I'll pull out. I do a lot of mash ups of country songs put together with little rock hooks in it, and try to give everybody a little something that they enjoy.

Korfe will be taking the stage at 6:30 p.m. Tonight' concert at Lake George will be kicked off by Todd Hurst and his band, The Whiskey Three. The band was the Wednesday night house band at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar in St. Louis Park.
