Jim Morrison Pardoned For 1969 Indecent Exposure Conviction
1969. It was a different time in the United States. One of war and peace. Right and wrong. The nation has never been as polarized as it was at the end of this decade. Rock and Roll music was now the popular alternative. And Jim Morrison was a poet and artist.
Now I wasn't alive when Jim was famous, but I've heard most of his music. I didn't understand the logic behind the songs until I saw 'The Doors' movie. In a different state of mind and the era, it makes perfect sense!
Jim was pardoned today for his 1969 indecent exposure conviction. He was arrested on charges of public profanity and indecent exposure, for which he was sentenced to six months in jail and given a $500 fine. Morrison was appealing the conviction when he was found dead in a bathtub in Paris in 1971.
Jim can now rest in peace.
