Jon Bon Jovi Is In Love With U2’s The Edge
The bitching and back biting between Richie Sambora and Jon Bon Jovi just seems to be getting worse. Richie didn't seem to enjoy Jon's latest comparison and he has something to say about it.
It's no secret that there has been tension recently between Jon Bon Jovi and guitarist Richie Sambora, but now Richie has taken it to a whole new level.
Jon made a comment last month about being on the next leg of their tour and being thankful that the guitarist they've been using was able to fill in for the absent Richie. He said that Richie isn't irreplaceable like The Edge from U2, saying "If someone chooses not to be here, unlike if this were, God forbid, The Edge and he for some reason couldn't make a U2 show, it would be very difficult to just step in." So, either he's saying The Edge is better than Richie or that Richie isn't a vital part of Bon Jovi. Either way...OUCH!
I agree with what Jon says, though. The Edge is not replaceable, just like John Bonham wasn't replaceable. There's no one like him, so after John passed away, the band broke up, just like I don't think that U2 could carry on if something happened to The Edge.
Regardless, Richie does not appreciate Jon's latest remarks, and reportedly sent Jon and email that just said, "Hire The Edge." No comment from Jon.
