Keith Richards is not being recognized for his guitar work. How does that make him feel?

Turns out, he's OK with it.

Keith Richards tells the Los Angeles Times that ever since he was in Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End playing Captain Jack Sparrow's father, Captain William Teague, he has gained a whole new generation of fans.

He says that he's surprised that there are children who are excited to meet him because he never expected to work for Disney, but, "hey. It's all good fun," and he says that not everyone who likes the Pirates movies is the rock n' roll type and being a part of the franchise gives him a chance to introduce himself to and communicate with a different group of people.

Richards reprises his role in the new installment, Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides. He's in the film for about three minutes, but easily gets one of the biggest laughs in the whole movie.

Meanwhile, Richards' new 500 page memoir, Life hit the shelves earlier this month.
