Large Amount of Marijuana Leads To St. Cloud Woman’s Arrest

ST. CLOUD -- A St. Cloud woman faces drug possession charges after a large amount of marijuana was found in her car Monday.

The incident happened at a St. Cloud apartment at 304 Laudenbach Court. Commander Steve Soyka says they received information a resident was in possession of a large amount of marijuana in her apartment.

Officers arrived to find 25-year-old Andrea Sorbo leaving her apartment with a large plastic bin she put in her car. As officers approached her, they noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the car.

Authorities used a search warrant and say they found about 3 pounds of marijuana inside the bin Sorbo had been carrying, as well as inside her apartment. Soyka says they also found about $1300 inside.

Sorbo was arrested and taken to the Stearns County Jail. She faces charges of 5th degree possession of a controlled substance.
