ST. CLOUD -- St. Cloud's Abe Lincoln plaza downtown was lit up in Red, White and Blue Monday night to honor the memory of September 11th, 2011.

This was one of three ways St. Cloud memorialized 9/11 Monday. The other two were St. Cloud State University students holding a flag raising on campus, and the 16th Annual "A Day To Remember" event, which is held to honor those who serve in the military, and first responders.

The monument, located in Lincoln plaza next to the new parking ramp has been lit different colors before including on Veterans' day last year, and earlier this year for Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.

St. Cloud spent $30,000 in half-cent sales tax money to restore the near century old statue, which was rededicated in 2016.

The statue was commissioned in 1918 by then-mayor Peter Seberger.
