Memorable Classic Rocks GuitarLicks, Part One – Kansas, “Carry On My Wayward Son” [VIDEOS]

Kansas struggled to get a hit single with three albums they had recorded in two years back in 1976.

Kansas was pretty much about to wrap up the recordings for the album titled.'Leftoverture' when songwriter Kerry Livgren had an after thought and decided to bring in his song, "Carry On My Wayward Son".

Featured guitarists: Kerry Livgren and Rich Williams.

The song was only rehearsed once, recorded it and it became Kansas's first big hit. It made it on VH1's list of Greatest Hard Rock Songs, also Rolling Stone's list of 500 best rock songs.
