Metallica’s follow up to Death Magnetic is coming, but don’t expect it any time soon.

According to Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich’s statements in Rolling Stone Magazine, he says everyone in the group is looking forward to their next album and they understand the fans want some new material, but they aren’t in any rush to get it out there.

Lars says he understands that the fans want a new album, but that they aren’t going to stress about putting it out and that they’ll “get there” but for right now there isn’t any rush or incentive to put the record out. They don’t want to hurry for the sake of putting out a record so they can get out there and play gigs.

Speaking of gigs, they just finished up their Orion Music and More Festival earlier this month in Detroit and are now headed to Denmark for a one off gig in July.
