Sabin Lake was created from mining in the Iron Range. It provides for great swimming and extreme water clarity.
2. Jessie Lake – Lake Jessie Township
Jessie Lake is another mining pit, located in Itasca County. It’s the 2nd most clear lake in Minnesota and you can literally see many feet down below the surface.
3. Clearwater Lake – Cook, MN (not the Clearwater central MN lake)
Clearwater Lake is 1338 acres and is very long and narrow, perfect for a long boat or canoe ride. It’s stunning clear views are from constant low algae levels and make it a great lake for swimming and other water activities.
4. Caribou Lake – Deer Lake, MN
Caribou Lake is a 248 acre lake in Itasca County. What makes this lake so special is you can see through the blue water surface down to 24 feet! Imagine swimming in this natural swimming pool!
5. Beauty Lake – Lake Alice Township
This lake is very properly named, Beauty Lake. It’s only 54 acres small, but the water clarity is 100%, meaning you can see all the way down to the bottom.
