Minor Injuries When Car, Ambulance Collide In Waite Park

WAITE PARK - A car collided with an ambulance in Waite Park last (Wednesday) night. The police department says it happened just before 9:00 p.m. at the intersection of Division Street and 10th Avenue.

A Melrose ambulance was going east on Division, with its lights and siren on, bringing a patient to St. Cloud Hospital. The driver of the car was going north on 10th and went through the intersection on a green light.

The diver of the car was 68-year-old Carol Okonek of St. Cloud. She was not hurt. The driver of the ambulance was 36-year-old Natascha Hennen of Freeport. She and two other members of the ambulance crew had minor injuries, but were not hospitalized.

The patient did not suffer any further injuries.

Gold Cross Ambulance brought the patient to the hospital.
