Sometimes it might appear that Alan Parsons was engineering 'Dark Side of the Moon' basically on his own because of one very BIG distraction.The band had a strong addiction and I'm not talking about alcohol or drugs unless you consider Monty Python their drug of choice.

The band's addiction to Monty Python's Flying Circus was a good thing for Parson's as he would work in his own ideas while the band was distracted. Good move!

Parsons said in an interview with Rolling Stone, "Very often, they'd stop for Monty Python and leave me to do a rough mix."

He also mentioned, "That was quite fulfilling for me. I got to put my own mark on it."
