All four members of Motley Crue took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge last night after their concert in Virginia Beach -- and then dared Kiss, Def Leppard and Aerosmith to do the same.

When Nikki Sixx tweeted to warn fans "you are gonna want your cell phones tonight" before the show last night, we knew we better get up early today to find out what happened. And sure enough, our new best buddy brianphillips503 captured all the action posted above for your enjoyment.

Before the soon-to-hang-it-up foursome got soaked, Sixx laid out his peer challenges, as well as a couple of important rules: "We as Motley Crue are going to challenge three other bands to do this, OK? We're challenging Aerosmith -- you have to do it onstage guys. Who else are we challenging? Kiss! Let's see if they'll do it, right, raise some money? And how about Def Leppard?"

The band also gave up $10,000 from the evening's ticket sales, and asked their peers to do the same. Kiss frontman Paul Stanley was quick to accept the challenge, promising he and his bandmates will totally ruin their makeup onstage in Indianapolis tomorrow night:

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease,” is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. The Ice Bucket Challenge asks people to either film themselves getting dunked by ice water (and make a small donation to the cause) or to make a larger donation to the cause of finding a cure for this disease — and then challenge their friends to get soaked or pay up.
