Well, we may not be able to see how 'The Munsters' get reborn as 'Mockingbird Lane' on a weekly basis, but at least we'll get to see what Bryan Fuller came up with for the pilot. Having already sunk over $10 million into the project, NBC seems to have made the official decision not to move forward with Fuller's 'Mockingbird Lane,' instead airing the pilot as a spooky Halloween special. When will the episode air, and will that be curtains for the project?

Pour one out for 'Mockingbird Lane,' y'all. Yesterday we'd heard that NBC was looking for some measure of salvage toward its pricey 'Munsters' reboot, kicking around the idea of selling its pilot internationally as a TV movie, or perhaps scratching the project altogether. Given the hefty price tag of $10 million over the last two years, NBC will instead air the 'Mockingbird Lane' pilot on Friday, October 26 as a Halloween special lead-in to 'Grimm,' according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Even with such prominent cast members Eddie Izzard as Grandpa Munster, Portia de Rossi as Lily and Jerry O’Connell as Herman, the pilot experienced difficulties when Fuller, Bryan Singer and NBC disagreed on the tone of the series, whether to portray the Munsters as fish out of water in a real-world setting, or as part of a fantastical Fuller-stylized world akin to ‘Pushing Daisies.’ Fuller himself remains preoccupied with NBC's 'Hannibal,' thus has no capacity for 'Mockingbird Lane' anymore anyway.

The episode will air Friday, October 26 at 8:oo p.m. on NBC. Will you tune in to see what Bryan Fuller and Bryan Singer did with 'Mockingbird Lane'?
