This weekend we'll be wearing as little clothing as possible. Unfortunately our pets can't take off their fur coats. Here's some really fun and easy ideas too cool off your pets.

I doubt you'll be wearing a fur coat outside this weekend when it's near 100 degrees, so we have to think about our pets that don't have any choice. While it's true that they have a better ability to warm and cool themselves down, the still get uncomfortably hot and they look to us to help them stay as cool as possible.

We have 2 lab dogs in our house. Gracie is a lab/golden mix and she gets very warm with her longer coat. Every one of these tips in the video will be attempted this weekend at our house, guaranteed. Especially the doggy popsicle treats!

It's important to keep your eye on your pets when it's this warm outside. According to Mercola, these are signs to look for with them getting overheated:

  • Heavy panting or rapid breathing
  • Elevated body temperature
  • Excessive thirst
  • Weakness, collapse
  • Glazed eyes
  • Increased pulse and heartbeat
  • Vomiting, bloody diarrhea
  • Seizures
  • Bright or dark red tongue, gums
  • Excessive drooling
  • Staggering, stumbling
  • Unconsciousness

Let's make sure our pets stay cool all summer and can enjoy the beautiful Minnesota weather like we plan to!
