The Neil Young film Journeys opens today, but it's not a concert film.

Neil Young collaborated with noted filmmaker Jonathan Demme for Journeys and it takes viewers through Neil's trip to his hometown in Ontario and chronicles the journey with concert film from his performance at Massey Hall in Toronto.

Jonathan tells Rolling Stone that it's not a concert film, but rather a "performance film with a strong documentary component to it." The run begins tonight on both the East and West coast with plans for a gradual wide release as the summer goes on.

Neil Young is an absolute legend and to be able to see his reception in his home town would be very cool, plus we're treated to performances through out? Sign me up.
