New alcohol law- sounds like a new restriction, right?  Nope.  It actually is a new law that has been changed... or even parts of a restriction lifted.

Here's the deal.  There was an ordinance that previously stated that unless you were within a certain 7 zone area of downtown Minneapolis, you were only allowed to serve beer and wine.  You could petition for a full liquor license, but that was a lot of rig-a-ma-roll.  And this time it came up on the ballot again.

This time, it passed with an overwhelming 80% of voters saying "Yes!" they would like to have a full bar available to them at any restaurant and/or bar in Minneapolis.  Now, it's no longer against the law... but you will still have to go through the city council and such, but at least the first hurdle is no longer a hurdle.

So, Tuesday, when that passed all the people rejoiced.  I suppose that could drive a bit more revenue into the area too.
