"Lonesome George" and The Delaware Destroyers have completed their 17th studio album.

Lots of good memories of Thorogood and co, here: backstage with him, onstage with him, numerous interviews, etc.

I always make a point of discussing his favorite subject: baseball (he was once a bit of a pitching prospect). I can remember him telling me a few years ago that right along side of the Mary Tyler Moore statue in downtown Minneapolis, that one of Ron Gardenhire should be erected, given his amazing work with The Twins on limited resources.

He's an enjoyable guy.

The new record is entitled "2120 South Michigan Avenue", the address of Chess Records Label Chicago studios.

The collection pays tribute to legendary Chess artists, and features covers of Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Howlin' Wolf, Buddy Guy, Sonny Boy Williamson, Little Walter, Willie Dixon, and Muddy Waters. It will also feature some Thorogood originals. Buddy Guy will also make an appearance.

"2120 South Michigan Avenue" will be released July 12th and George and The Destroyers will perform and the Minnesota Zoo's Amphitheatre in Apple Valley on August 17th.
