One year after the passing of Thin Lizzy guitarist Gary Moore, his official cause of death has been released.

Being a fan of Thin Lizzy and Gary Moore's solo work, it pains me to say that Gary's fatal heart attack in February 2011 was fueled by excessive alcohol use.

According to The Telegraph, tests showed Moore consumed, "massive amounts of alcohol." Toxicology reports recently released state that Gary had more than five times the legal limit for drunk driving in his system. For the record, the legal limit is .08. That means Gary's blood alcohol content was over .40.

His girlfriend was one of the last to see him alive and apparently tried to revive him when she found him unresponsive. A security guard for the hotel he was staying at also tried to pump his heart, but said he was already cold.

Gary died February 6, 2011. He was 58.
