When it comes to rock bands that are universally loved, only a few names really make the cut. Among them Led Zeppelin, Journey, AC/DC, The Beatles, and Van Halen. Of course, it’s impossible to talk about universally praised rock groups without mentioning the one and only – Pink Floyd.

Next to Tool, Pink Floyd are probably my all time favorite band. It’s hard not to love them. They invented, and popularized the concept album with “Dark Side Of The Moon” and “The Wall” and managed to have a pretty good run even after Roger Waters left the group (though they we’re never quite as good afterwards in my opinion.)

Unfortunately, being that I wasn’t born until 1993, I never got the chance to see them play live. It’s something that I’ll probably be salty about until the day I kick the bucket. However, I am pretty excited that Nick Mason himself will be performing all of those classic tunes for live audiences here in the states with his Pink Floyd tribute band “Saucerful Of Secrets.” They’re even going to be performing at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis on April 3rd.
