I broke my own mold yesterday, doing something that I had never done before. I joined an online dating site. I'm not trying to hunt down a wife, but after resisting the process for a while I decided, "Hey why not?" I'm new to the area, and it could be a fun way to meet people.

Before moving to St. Cloud in June, I lived in Bozeman, Montana for 17 years and Fort Collins, Colorado for three. When you rip up your roots, you also leave behind your network of friends and acquaintances. It takes time to build those up when you move to a new place. I figured this would help speed up that process. I love meeting new people.

And besides, like it or not, we live in a tech savvy, online, mobile world now. This is where people spend a lot of their lives. (Can you say Facebook or Twitter?) I opted for match.com.

Life is all about expectations. Mine are just to have fun, and make some new connections. The rest of the chips will fall where they may. I'll let you know how it goes. Rock on!
