Yes this is a prequel with yet another movie in the series in the work as Oz The Great and Powerful swoops its way to the top of the box office on a broom.James Franco plays a con-man/ small-time magician who gets transported to a land we all grew to love The magical land of Oz.
When he arrives he is scrutinized by three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz), and Glinda the Good (Michelle Williams).

Don't expect to hear the song, "We're off to See The Wizard" or expect to see Dorothy and company, however: there is the essence of the scarecrow and a lion but It is worth the dime in this adventure whether it's seen in 2D or 3D.

The movie is playing at the Parkwood Cinemas, be sure and check the local listings for showtimes. The film is rated PG and runs 2hrs and 7 minutes.

Attached is Brett Martin's review to get you in the know before you go (Brett is a long-time member of the BFCA (Broadcast Film Critics Association). He has interviewed nearly every A-list movie star in the past 10 years).
