ST. CLOUD - Parking meters may be coming to the east side of the Mississippi River in St. Cloud.

City leaders are recommending putting the meters in a parking lot at 223 East St. Germain Street - that's just to the west of the Holiday Gas Station, where the former Salvation Army building used to be.

The city recently received a grant to implement green stormwater improvements on the east side, which means the gravel lot will be paved. The project will also include a rain garden and an underground treatment system.

During Monday night's city council meeting, the council is expected to set a public hearing for May 2nd to discuss amending the "parking meter zone" to include the East St. Germain lot.
