Paul McCartney has signed a deal with Decca Records in collaboration with his daughter Stella McCartney to create a ballet called "Ocean's Kingdom" and the premise of the ballet will be a love story set in an underwater world.

He was actually asked to score the project by the New York City Ballet. Stella is designing the costumes. This "Ocean's Kingdom" not only marks the first time that Paul has worked with Decca Records, this also is the first time he has worked with his daughter and the first time either has done anything with the New York City Ballet.

The world premiere of "Ocean's Kingdom" is set for September 22, with four additional performances later in the month. Meanwhile, Paul is promoting his new Showtime Special The Love We Make: The Concert for New York City. That will air September 10.

The Beatles auditioned for Decca Records in 1962 and were rejected by the label with the executive telling the group they were "on their way out" and had "no future in show business."
