Former Beatle Paul McCartney is asking to return to the place where his band played their final show in 1966.

Paul McCartney got the brilliant idea to do ask the city of San Francisco if he could do one last concert at Candlestick Park before it gets torn down.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Paul approached San Fran Mayor Ed Lee when he was backstage at the recent Outside Lands Festival, saying that the Beatles played their last show there in August of 1966, so it would be only appropriate that he come back and do a show there before it's demolished.

No word on what the Mayor has to say. Candlestick Park will be razed after the 2013-2014 football season in order to make way for a new shopping mall.
