OK, today's day #4 of my 30-day 'Sugar-Free Challenge' following my viewing of the movie 'Fed Up' Saturday morning. It's not just obvious sugar like candy & pop; but any added sweetener of any kind in any food (aka: lots of whole foods). I've had two main difficulties in the first four days, they are:

  1. SHOPPING: It's damn near impossible to buy something in a box, bottle, or can that doesn't have some kind of added sweetener. The 'whole food' people are onto something if sugar is their deal. For the most part, PROCESSING = SUGAR from what I can see so far.
  2. HUNGER: I have fet constantly hungry the past three days, which I am told is a common side-effect of giving up sugar cold-turkey. I am not limiting how much I eat, just what I eat. My brain feels hungry, but after cramming in more sweetener-free foods (fruit, veggies, whole grain foods, fish, etc.), my stomach eventually tells me I have had enough! Hoping someday my brain will catch up.

Interestingly, Men's Heath magazine published an article this week titled, '6 Ways to Beat Your Sugar Habit. View the article HERE.
