Despite the calendar only recently turning to September, week three of the high school football season is already upon us. Two teams remain undefeated in the North Central (Red) District in ROCORI and Moorhead.

Tonight ROCORI (Ranked #4 in Class 4A) put their 2-0 record on the line with a game at Sauk Rapids-Rice (1-1). The Storm won their opening game at home against Princeton before losing at Bemidji last week. The Spartans have defeated Big Lake and Willmar handily in their first two contests.

The Sartell Sabres are still looking for their first win of the season after losing a pair of tightly contested games at Rogers and at home against Tech in overtime in week two. They will face a 2-0 Moorhead team tonight in Sartell. Tonight's game can be heard on WJON.com beginning at 7 PM.

The Tech Tigers beat Sartell 32-31 in overtime last week to improve to 1-1 on the season. Tonight they will take on Bemidji at St. John's University. The Lumberjacks are 1-1 after losing their opening game on the road at St. Francis before putting up 46 points at home against Sauk Rapids in week two.

Finally, the Apollo Eagles are set to host the Alexandria Cardinals in the first game of the season at Apollo's Michie Field. The Eagles were forced to move their opening game to SCSU due to the field's track being replaced. Apollo trounced Cambridge-Isanti in week one before losing at Brainerd in week two. Alexandria is 0-2 after a tough opening schedule saw them fall at home against Monticello before losing at Moorhead in week two. Tonight's game can be heard on AM 1390 The Fan beginning at 6:45.

In the East Central (North) District, Cathedral is still searching for their first win of the season after losses to Holy Family Catholic and Albany. The Crusaders will hit the road this week to take on Foley, who checks in at 1-1 on the season after an opening-week win over Dassel-Cokato and a week two loss at Zimmerman.
