Don’t throw your old holiday lights in the garbage, bring them to The Loon studios and we’ll recycle them for you. We’re not only collecting your unwanted light strings, but we’ll take your old electrical, telephone and appliance cords, too. We hand everything over to WACOSA, where workers remove the bulbs so they can be recycled. You can them drop off here at our studios; 640 Lincoln Ave SE, anytime between 9 and 6 Monday thru Friday.

WACOSA, in collaboration with the Recycling Association of Minnesota, will remove the bulbs from the holiday light strings and then all bulbs and donated cords will be recycled.

Several area businesses have collection boxes for these items that can be brought in during their regular business hours. Click here for a full screen map of all Minnesota locations, just type your city in and the map will zoom to the nearest drop-off. For more information about the holiday light recycling program or if you would like collection bins for your business location please call Beth at WACOSA 320-257-5182

WACOSA is a non-profit organization that serves over 550 adults with disabilities in Central Minnesota. Operating since 1963, WACOSA has program sites in Waite Park, Sauk Centre and at Whitney Senior Center in St. Cloud. Most of their workers face barriers to employment and WACOSA helps knock down those barriers by finding paid work to match their abilities.
