I was so sad to hear about the passing of Lou Reed over the weekend.

Pioneer. Legend. Poet. Whatever adjective you want to insert in front of Lou Reed's name, Lou is arguably one of the most creative spirits to ever grace us with his presence. The music world lost a good one. Often replicated, but never duplicated, we hadn't seen anyone like him before, and will never see anyone like him again. At least, not in our lifetimes.

Lou Reed, of course is the founder of the Velvet Underground and their debut album, released1967 called The Velvet Underground and Nico was produced by beatnik artist Andy Warhol. Initially, it was labeled a gigantic failure, but as time wore on, it became quite apparent that that record was one of the most important records to be recorded in all of American music history. The cover was also a subject of controversy back in its day, as well.

Listen to "I'll Be Your Mirror" and tell me how many other perfect songs are out there. Not many measure up to this one.
