REO Speedwagon's lead singer is going country.

REO Speedwagon front man Kevin Cronin says that he wants to have a country hit record to his name before his career is over, but he's not recording a country album.

Kevin says he is hoping country super star Keith Urban will record a song that he has written for him. Kevin tells CountryWeekly.com that he can, "die a happy man" if that dream ever comes true.  Kevin has been hanging around Nashville for a while and was recently spotted at the All For the Hall Benefit that supports the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

Kevin adds that it, "blew his mind" to see country singers like Martina McBride and Brad Paisley singing along to REO's hit song Roll with the Changes.

By the way, you can catch REO Speedwagon New Year's Eve at Treasure Island Resort and Casino.
