The St. Cloud Rox dropped game one of a doubleheader at Waterloo by a 9-2 final score at Riverfront Stadium Thursday.

The crowd was sparse at best, but only because of flooding caused by heavy rains, which also were responsible for the postponement of Wednesday's game.

The parking lot was inaccessible by anything but canoe, and the other baseball fields surrounding Riverfront were completely underwater.

Daniel Comstock (Menlo College) led the Rox with a pair of singles in the loss. Garrett Fischer (SCSU) and Eric Loxtercamp (SCSU) also had hits in their Rox debuts.

The Bucks pulled away with a five-run third inning off of starter Daniel Martinez (New Orleans) and reliever Kasey Ralston (Indiana) to take a 7-2 lead.

The Rox will play game two late on Thursday night before heading back to St. Cloud and Joe Faber Field for their home opener Friday night.
