The Rox jumped all over the Blue Anchors with a four-run first inning in an 8-2 win Saturday night at Joe Faber Field. St. Cloud improves to 11-6 with the win, their third straight.

Tim Colwell led off the first inning rally with a triple down the left field line and was followed by a Clay Williamson single for a 1-0 lead. The Rox would add four more hits in the inning along with three additional runs for a 4-0 lead.

SCSU's Corey Fitzgerald got the start for the Blue Anchors and was roughed up for five runs in eleven hits in less than five innings of work. The Richfield native is now 0-6 on the season.

St. Cloud added a run in the fifth on a sac fly to take a 5-0 lead. Alexandria got one run back in the top of the sixth, but the Rox responded with three runs in the bottom of the seventh to make the score 8-1.

Evan Wolf got the win for St. Cloud, allowing only one run on six hits in six innings of work.

The Rox will play at Alexandria on Sunday before a three day break for the Northwoods League All Star game.
