Canadian rockers Rush were just honored with a postage stamp in their home and native land and apparently this is a pretty big deal.

The stamps are part of the Canadian Recording Artist Stamp Series.

Rush, along with the Guess Who received the honor with an official book of stamps, a first day cover, postage paid post cards, and a limited edition framed print. I happened to be there when Randy Bachmann was given the framed print, and I must say he was just about overcome with emotion when he first laid eyes on it. The items went on sale to the general public on Friday and they were sold out within hours.

The Rush postage stamps feature the band's Star Man logo as seen on their 2112 album cover. The Guess Who's image is their name up against a maple leaf and it's pretty cool.
