Sammy Hagar Accuses Van Halen of Faking It

Getty Images

In a recent interview Sammy Hagar accused his former Van Halen bandmates of using a tape of former bassist Michael Anthony’s back-up vocals in concert, even though Michael wasn’t touring with the band. This apparently all went down back in 2008 when Van Halen was out on tour with David Lee Roth. Sammy claims the vocals are too good for it to have been Wolfie (Eddie’s son and current bassist for Van Halen) or Eddie.

Sammy also chimed in on the supposed upcoming Van Halen album, (the first since 1984 with David Lee Roth) during the interview with Attention Deficit Delirium. He has serious doubts about it ever really happening, saying “I don’t think they’re ever going to get together with Dave. They’ve been working on that record for a year and a half or whatever, and they just keep postponing and postponing it.”
