SARTELL -- Sartell officials will consider approving a road extension project to help scale back traffic on two major city roadways.

During Monday's city council meeting, a public hearing will be held to address roadway and utility improvements for 4th Avenue South.

The project would call for the extension of 4th Avenue South between Heritage Drive and 4th Street South, placement of concrete curb and gutter, as well as sewer, watermain and storm sewer utility installation.

Improvement cost for the project are about $4-million and would be paid through a combination of local funds, special assessments and federal funds.

If approved construction plans would be brought to the council for approval at their January 23rd meeting, with construction expected to begin this summer.
