SAUK RAPIDS -- The city of Sauk Rapids announced their Citizen of the Year Monday.

Jodi Speicher is the 2017 Citizen of the Year. Sauk Rapids business owners, city staff and the last year's awardee make up the Citizen of the Year Committee who chose Speicher.

Speicher was a member of the Citizen of the Year Committee prior to this year. City Administrator Ross Olson says she has dedicated both her volunteer and professional work to elderly care and she works closely with the Good Shepherd community.

Speicher will be honored Monday, April 24 at a reception, at the Sauk Rapids Goverment Center beginning at 4:30 p.m. Following the event the city council will give Speicher a special recognition at their meeting, which begins at 6:00 p.m.
